This is not My blog but i thought it was worth posting.
R.E.) How do we save california?
1) stop immigration - this is not a anti immigrant statement, it is just a common sense approach to
a problem out of control. It makes no difference the origin of the people moving here, be they
from south of our boarder, asia, europe, or arkansas. It is a simple law of supply and demand.
No one coming here are bring any of the things we are running out of, water, food , clean air,
public services, affordable housing, good schools, freeway lanes, good paying jobs, sanitation
facilities, the list goes on.
It seems that no matter how bad It gets fires, floods, earthquakes, smog, gang violence people
keep coming is there no way to discourage them?
For those of us who are actually native calif. (Born and raise here apparently a vast minority
boarding on being a extinct species) it is very frustrating. Everyone comes here and proclaimes
this there home, but as soon as they get here there first mission it seems is to start changing it into
the place they just left. From establishing hole mini towns (little tokyo, little korea, etc.) To out
right hostility to the people who live here. ( I once had a friend who immigrated here from
Rosarita,Mexico he had nothing but complaints and criticisims I asked him if it was so terrible
why didn’t he just return to mexico his answer “it’s better here”)
who could fault anyone for wanting better? It doesn’t seem unreasonable, but when someone goes
out of there way to move to a whole different country that they see as a step up in life why
would they think it a good idea to deride our area in favor their place of origin.
Example: mexico and usa play a soccer game , mexico wins and suddenly there are car loads of
people in the streets flying flags and proclaiming there loyalty to mexico. The us wins and the
same carloads of people are looking for revenge.
If people are so proud of where they came from why not stay there and make it better there.
This was once a desert area with few redeeming features but with hard work and inginuity this
place was transformed think about it the only thing separating calif from mexico is a fence., but
what have they done with their land? who is to blame for there lack of prosperity, police
corruption, over population, pollution. I doubt very seriously we are to blame so why do we allow
these afflictions to be imported here.
The old argument that we need immigrant labor to do the jobs that we are unwilling to do is
losing credibility lets face it when you have 100 jobs to fill and 500 people to fill them enough is
enough. On any one day you can go down to the corner and there are 50 guys within a 2 block
area on the street flaging cars looking for work .
We in calif are the constant targets of derision. People keep lumping us all into one bundle (those
nuts on the west coast) I don’t care what anybody says the vast majority of us are NOT card
carrying gays, child molesters, mass murderers, anti-american militiasts. In fact for the most part
we work, play, try and fail, succeed, much like anywhere else, but that is not interesting news the
media are only interested in sensationalism. I have lived here all my life when I was growing up
just 30 miles from downtown L.A. there was still room to ride a horse through open fields all day
long now good luck finding a open field at all, 30 years ago we had great schools now I wonder
where we will have to take my son for a good education in a safe atmosphere there are some hard
choices to be made it is time to stop playing politics and capitulating to every whiner about
immigrant rights it is self preservation time. Pretty soon it won’t just be rising prices and shrinking
supplies it will be survival of the best armed lets head off that problem and take some action
Anyone here illegally deport them now no exceptions in or out of prison
if you don’t already have a job here and a home here don’t move here
Crack down on fiscal waste (everyone talks about it but noone actually does anything certainly
not the politicians looking for re-election) and redefine fiscal waste. Gov. arnold preaches all
about the children next thing you know cuts in the school budget
the city of LA says money is scarce cuts have to be made my sons school was told they had to cut
there budget by $25,000 but there is still plenty of money to pay for a marathon complete with
cars, prize money, bottled water, overtime pay for city employees, extra police, billboard
advertisement and who knows what else?

Here we go again (Terrorism Part II)
My last diatribe continues...
Okay so the terrorists didn't blow up the Beverly Center (sigh). But hey today is a new day and guess what? There's a celebrity indictment and arraignment scheduled. Helicopters and fans and limos, oh my.
But that's not the important story. That story is the one that has truckers protesting the price of diesel by parking their rigs on the freeway and walking away. The only news reports seem to be traffic related with a side bar on the unfair way shipping companies are not increasing their payments in tune with the increase in fuel prices.
Later on a report came in of truckers driving slow and blowing their airhorns in support of their protesting brothers. This was followed within minutes with the prospect of at least two more "park and go" protests for later today and about how this is going to affect the afternoon commute.
Maybe I'm paranoid or maybe I've read too many conspiracy theories, but if I were a terrorist, this is the perfect time to sow some fear. Think about it. How many trucks do you see on a given day? I only have a 15-minute commute and I counted no less than 20 rigs this morning alone. If I wanted to cripple a major metropolitan area, not hurt, but cripple an area. Why not jump into five or ten trucks loaded with fertilizer drive off in pairs and let go under overpasses or on bridges. In LA alone 10 trucks could bring the region to its knees.
The way the media and law enforcement are reacting to this demonstrates a weakness that can be exposed. Now I'm positive that I'm not the first to think of this and law enforcement has changed how they are reacting to these "protesters."
I agree that the truckers are getting the short shrift in this fuel market and that they have every right to protest. But I would be careful on how I’m doing that because the second I open a cab door to walk away on the 10 freeway, I would hope that one of the Highway Patrol is there to get me and my rig off to jail just in case I am one of the guys looking to make a “statement” against the Western infidels.

Thanks Osama:
Living in LA we have to tolerate over the top, wall to wall coverage of events to the point of nausea but now it's getting out of hand.
First a little background:
I guess it all started back in the early 80's when El Nino was invented (yes invented).
You see, since LA is technically a desert (one with poor drainage) and whenever we get some rain, we flood. Some t.v. Executive saw this and learned that floods makes for great news. All networks all the time from the first hint 5000 miles out in the Pacific to three days after the streets have dried.
Remember that desert thing? Well, every couple of years someone or something tries to burn the city down from the valley to the ocean and once again, great news. From the first ember to the "last stand."
Oh yeah, I almost forgot fault lines. When we're not building arks, or toasting marshmallows we're trying to shake it all apart. Great news, great ratings. Great ratings my hind end. There's nothing else on. Everything's been preempted for on the spot reporting of the reporters who are reporting and the analysts who are being, well, anal. But enough of that.
Moving away from the natural we come to the some of the more surreal things floating in LA like riots, beatings, high speed chases and since So Cal is basically one big Hollywood we cannot forget the trial of the century (de jour). "Oui, oui sir, today's special is the child molesting, axe murderer who won the Oscar last week."
Sure all of these stories are newsworthy, but here in la la land we just don't get the story we get "THE WHOLE STORY." What that means is 24-hour coverage on EVERY local station with team coverage on those especially exciting stories (and they are all especially exciting).
So why am I thanking the Osama? Easy, because I woke up this morning and lo and behold, live team coverage from every strip mall in the Westside as they keep their eyes peeled for some explosive laden terrorist.
Just what we need, another reason to preempt normal programming. Now how am I going to learn about perfect blintzes? Oh that's right, she's on trial on another network.
